a craving...gone bad

I can't say for certain that eating 5 white castle sliders yesterday resulted in the sheer agony I have been experiencing today. But I can say with certainty that I haven't been able to leave the bathroom for a good 14 hours.

Someone help!!! I swear never to give in to a craving again!

the silent treatment

I dream of revealing my soul to you
the center of it all
my black and blue heart
the result of...silence

I can't deny it
Though my heart wants to fight it
Silence speaks volumes over words
And I find myself speechless

I fear even if words did come
No matter how discrete
They'd form concrete
Somehow holding us down

But...
What if I did tell you
My dreams and fears
Finally reveal myself to you after all these years
Will my words of truth
fall on deaf ears?
Or will you ignore it
Thinking I got lit and I'm just giving you lip
Chalking it up to more of my crazy shit ?

I sometimes wonder
Can you feel my silence engulf you as we become one?
Long after its said and done...
Do you look at me and wonder what's become...of us
Do you know
I dream of painting you my world?
Taking you on the grand tour
Yet I wake up to find yet again
silence reigns supreme
Somehow I'm frozen
Beside myself...in love

These unspoken words
Have spoke dimensions more than the words themselves
leaving me sad & lonely
feeling somewhat phony
with you at my side

a million little observations...

The last two days I was in a seminar downtown which required me to take the el. There, I observed a large amount of people reading the controversial memoir " A Million Little Pieces" - what's more shocking is that all of them were JUST starting the book - with the price tag still on it!!

It appears "The smoking Gun's" exposing story of James Frey's lies (or be it - half truths) written in the memoir appears to have done more good than harm to James Frey's bottom line. I even found myself intrigued to read it, casually looking over a shoulder or two to read a paragraph to see what all the hype was about. It's funny how things like that backfire, huh ?

false allegations...

Ganked from Cracked Chancla:

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often or don't really know each other) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you!

stupidity patrol

Gut wrenching lies pry into un-wanting ears
Preying on fears
And trying to get into hearts of America

Have you heard the news?
The stupid man is in town
Unknowingly looking like a clown
Its absurd how he prances around the tv
Eyes aglow with ignorance stupidity

As I turn of the tube
I think:

He
Is not
My
President

He
Will not
Define
ME

He
Will not
Take
MY FREEDOMS
Without
a fight

kudos to whole foods!!

I think Whole Foods' decision to subsidize 100% of it's energy consumption by using wind technology is KICK ASS!

(so far) They are the only Fortune 500 company to purchase renewable energy credits for a full 100% of its energy use. Hopefully, other big companies will see the light and follow suite.

Just think about it, whole foods decision will "help avoid more than 700 million pounds of carbon dioxide pollution in 2006...amounting to taking about 60,000 cars off the road."

I think that decision in itself sets Whole Foods apart from the rest. So much in fact, that I may begin shopping there instead for a portion of my groceries. Granted they are a tad bit more expensive than say Dominicks or Jewels, but at least they care enough about the world we live in to make a difference in it. At least I know my money is going to good use, and not just to some greedy CEO or board of directors.

Sorry, about the lack of posts lately but...in the midst of the new year, I find myself reflective, trying to understand my so called life.

Much like the Orion Nebula, I'm just floating around in space.

first post of '06

Happy new year everyone! I know it's almost a week late (alas, I have begun procrastination early AGAIN this year) - but the gesture is from the heart nonetheless. I hope 2006 kicks ass for each and every one of you.

As for me, I am enjoying the new year off right: with a new job and no new resolutions whatsoever. When I was younger, each year I would draw up a lists of things which I wanted to accomplish or resolutions which I vowed to keep for the next 365 days. Like everyone else, nothing (or close to nothing) ever got done. How depressing. NEEDLESS TO SAY, as I've matured, I realized I am not one for new years resolutions. Instead, I just cross my fingers & hope for the best: mainly health and happiness throughout the year.

Anyway, I started my new job and I am still in the honeymoon period. I love the environment & the prestige of working at such a world renowned place. Even the people I work with are sweet (though a tad too suburban if you ask me). But, I have to say my favorite thing of all about this job is the FOOD!!! You read right!! They provide us FREE gourmet breakfast, lunch, and dinner via our dining room (you can't even call it a cafeteria, it's so nice). I'm talking decked-out breakfasts with choices of not just the standard muffins and juice - but made to order omelets, Belgian waffles, bacon/sausage, hash browns, and made to order cappuccinos that put Starbucks to shame. Lunch is the same way, with salad bar, a main course, the made to order area usually consisting of stir fry of pasta, soups, and dessert...OHHHH, I am in hog heaven. Talk about a perk huh ? Never again will I have to buy lunch or throw together questionable leftovers to save some cash. LIFE IS GOOD!!

Well, I have to get back to work. This is my first post at my new job (I am in my new cube hiding from prying eyes as best as I can). I feel so naughty...hee hee...I should be working on a spreadsheet. ;)

I will try to post soon. I am away for the weekend but will return afterwards happy as can be. Peace n love
