I found the coolest Visual Thesaurus today while lazily browsing the internet at work. It displays words and their synonyms in relationship to each other graphically. It even pronounces the words for you over the internet - perfect for those children struggling in English.
I love it! I simply love it!!!

dragonflypurity loves cd baby!!

I have been a faithful CD Baby customer for a while now; each time I buy music from them I am more & more impressed with their speedy service and awesome selection of independent artists. For example, this is part of the the email I received when I placed my latest order (please note my comments are enclosed in **'s):
“CD Baby loves DRAGONFLYPURITY!!
Your CDs have been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. **WOWEE...satin huh ?**
A team of 50 employees inspected your CDs and polished them to make
sure they were in the best possible condition before mailing. **don't I feel special ?**
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CDs into the finest gold-lined box that
money can buy. ** my cd's have been blessed...oohhmmmm**
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Thursday, March 24th.
I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year". We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!! **customer of the year!!! yeay!!!***”
After reading that, I felt a smile come across my face that filled me with genuine satisfaction (which is so seldom for post-purchase evaluations nowadays <- you can see my marketing background shining through, can't you?). Not only that, if you are a return customer, they will ship you a free cd along with your order...free: imagine that!! That fact alone (well, also coupled with that cute email campaign), how could I not want to buy something from them again?

books on the brain...
Today I'm back at work and feeling better. Turns out, as soon as I got home yesterday, I wasn't feeling nauseated anymore (go figure that!). I couldn't sleep, sit still, and there was nothing on TV. So, I had the whole afternoon to be productive. I started going through all my crap & just in my shelves in my room I have found like 20 books to sell in my Yard Sale. I found treasures like a tree grows in brooklyn, my chakra meditation cd & workbook, and the outlaws book of poetry. It kinda makes me sad to see them all go, but at the same token, it feels sooo good to declutter my life. It's amazing how many books I read in the past year or two. Seeing the books all stacked together in huge piles made me realize the sheer amount of information we store in our heads...each book we read somehow contributing just a litte to our psyche...imbedding theories, highlighted quotes, and little pieces of stories into the cornerstones of our brains. I just love reading!!! One day (when I am rich...ha ha) I will have a huge library in my house and it shall be grand.
Talking about books, if you are into books as much as I am and don't yet know about BookCrossing, check it out and thank me later. I have been part of that site for a while, but never really utilized it. But, I might just decide to release all the books I do not sell at my yard sale later in the summer.
On other fronts, I can't wait to see the HBO movie Something the Lord Made. Not only is Mof Def in it, Gabrielle Union (from Deliver us from Eva) is also there. I swear she’s just so gorgeous that I can't stop from staring at her (and I am a woman!!). There’s just something about her smile that just blows me away, and that’s especially hard for someone to do.
OHH ! And I updated my bookshelf list on the right of this page. Too many books and not enough time!!!
Anyway, boss is calling so I shall post later. Peace.

viva craigslist !
Man, craigslist is da bomb!! I am getting a double papasan chair and matching table for $30 !! The one pictured is a single one, so mines will be bigger...almost sofa like. While it may be slightly used, its in great condition and it's so damn pretty!! I'm all excited because (1) its a kick ass deal for such nice pieces and (2) its officially my first purchase for my new place (which I have yet to buy). I figure I might as well start picking up the deals while they become availbale rather than trying to buy furniture all at once when I get my place. I just can't wait to get the digs to put it in. For now, its going into storage in my moms garage. Sigh. I hope I find a place soon.
